In 1950 at the age of 13 my mother was put in the owatonna home for children she was there for 5 years. During her stay she met my father who arrived in 1951 and was there until 1955. Their names are Donald c.Becker and Ruth Ann Anderson. The stories told to me as a child are of terror and fear. Yet in this dim time for my parents they married and had three children. I have been on a quest for information on these years in this reform school but, I am told all records after 1945 do not exist,and only mentally handicapped children were kept there, neither of my parents were mentally handicapped,or physically handicapped.
